Inauguration of the Capital Market Information Center in Yogyakarta and Roadshow of Potential Investors Forum,

As part of the efforts to increase the number of local investors, Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) organizes Capital Market socializations and education for public. As Yogyakarta is one of the cities in the country that hold a number of potential investors, IDX therefore cooperated with Indonesian Clearing and Guarantee Corporation (KPEI) and Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI) in organizing a Potential Investor Forum entitled “Capital Market as an Alternative Investment”. The purpose of this event is to introduce capital Market as an alternative source of funding and investment to the public in Yogyakarta and its surrounding areas. The event was held on December 10, 2008 at the Melia Purosani Hotel, Yogyakarta.

Along with the event, IDX also inaugurated its newly established Capital Market Information Center (PIPM) in Yogyakarta that will act as its representative in the region. IDX is optimistic that the opening of PIPM in Yogyakarta will help to broaden the locals’ knowledge on Capital Market as an alternative investment and their main source of funding. The PIPM in Yogyakarta now adds up the number of existing PIPMs in the country, which consist of PIPM in Makassar, PIPM in Riau, PIPM in Balikpapan, PIPM in Pekalongan, PIPM in Manado, PIPM in Padang, PIPM in Pontianak and PIPM in Jember. IDX hopes that the existence of these information centers could draw IDX closer to the Capital Market Participants and potential participants in the regions. The PIPM opened in Yogyakarta also bears the purpose to attract more local companies to take benefit of IDX as a source of funding to support the growth of their companies in the region.

Suhartuti Sutopo, the Second Assistant to the Governor of Yogyakarta in the sector of Facilities and Investments (left), when symbolically inaugurated the PIPM in Yogyakarta.
